We can also accommodate complex and simple period features to the highest standards. For doors featuring stained or patterned glass, we can restore or replicate the original design within thermally efficient double-glazed units.

Choose from a variety of premium brand ironmongery options, including solid steel door knobs, ornate knockers, elegant letter plates, and a range of escutcheons that perfectly complement any door.

Timber Bi-Fold Doors

If you're looking to create a traditional or custom design for your bi-fold doors, we can bring it to life. Our team specialises in designing bi-fold doors that showcase authentic period characteristics, including intricate frame profiles, solid moulded kick panels, and traditional beading patterns.

Moreover, we excel at recreating any specific shapes and sizes required by clients who seek features like arched heads, Georgian glazing bars, or period diamond or square lead designs.

Importantly, this level of custom design comes without extra bespoke or one-time fees, as our network partner factories are well-equipped with the necessary materials, and our machinery can be swiftly adjusted to meet your unique design needs.

Minimal Maintenance Timber Doors

For those passionate about timber, our authentic timber windows and doors are engineered for a maximum service life with minimal maintenance. All windows and doors are designed to extend the intervals between repainting, whilst ensuring that the process is quick and straightforward when the time arrives to repaint.

Grade A heartwood, free of knots, prevents paint damage from resin bleeds. The frame design has rounded edges for smooth paint application. Four layers of paint provide a durable finish lasting up to ten years before needing a refresh. Teknos microporous paint allows the timber to breathe and retain moisture. When repainting, this water-based paint can be applied directly over the existing layers, saving costs and effort compared to stripping and priming oil-based paints.

Engineered Timber Doors

Engineered timber undergoes further treatment processes to enhance its strength and resilience, minimising issues such as warping and twisting that could lead to draughts and put pressure on locks, hinges, and double-glazed units. Two primary engineering methods are available: one involves immersing the timber in acetic acid (acetylation). The second technique entails cutting the frame into strips and re-glueing them with the grain oriented in opposing directions for each successive layer.

This cross-grain lamination method offers the advantage that when the wood expands and contracts during seasonal variations, each layer effectively counteracts the bending of adjacent strips, preventing the frames from warping.

Moreover, the inherent dynamic stability of engineered timber prevents the thinning and cracking of paint finishes, which can lead to rotting and damage from UV exposure.
